1. Eligibility

Membership of Our Decision Too (ODT) is void where prohibited by law.

You warrant that:

  1. all registration information you submit is truthful and accurate;
  2. you will maintain the accuracy of that information;
  3. you will keep any password supplied to you secure;
  4. you are a legitimate member of the institution which subscribes to ODT, if there is such an institution
  5. your membership and use of ODT does not violate any applicable law.

2. Content

VIDe Ltd. (owner of ODT) does not claim any ownership rights in the text, files, images, photos, video or any other materials (Content) that you post on ODT. By using this site you assert and accept that any material you choose to post openly using the posting option 'to the world' a) is owned by you b) is not copyrighted in any way c) may be viewed by any other person that uses this site and d) may be openly reported on by any other user.

Material posted privately - for example in secure groups and using any posting option other than 'to the world' a) is owned by you b) is not copyrighted in any way c) may be viewed only by any other person that is part of the private group and d) may not be openly reported on by any other user. 

You warrant that:

  1. you own Content posted by you on ODT; and
  2. the posting of your Content on ODT does not violate the privacy, intellectual property rights or any other rights of any person.

When posting Content you must:

  1. treat the views of other members with respect;
  2. not use any obscene, indecent, threatening or offensive language;
  3. not post any Content that may be defamatory, obscene, an infringement of intellectual property rights, discriminatory, misleading or deceptive or otherwise unlawful; or
  4. not post a photograph or video of another person without that person’s consent.

Content may be moderated by VIDe Ltd. However, Content is not generally moderated prior to its appearance and VIDe Ltd. accepts no responsibility for the conduct of any user or member of ODT, including any Content posted on ODT by a staff member.

VIDe Ltd. reserves the right to remove any Content.
 
If you have any privacy concerns you are advised to use a pseudonym. 
 

3. Use

You must not use ODT to:

  1. bully, intimidate or harass any user;
  2. misrepresent or defame others;
  3. commit fraud;
  4. collect usernames or email addresses of members by electronic or other means for the purpose of sending unsolicited email;
  5. engage in misleading or deceptive conduct; or
  6. propagate computer worms, viruses or other types of malicious programs.

You may report any concerns about or misuse of ODT by email to: ODT

We state unequivocally that - apart from the use of avatars and pseudonyms - any person who uses ODT to present themselves as other than who they really are will be banned from the Community for life. At our discretion we may choose to invoke criminal and/or civil proceedings against any person breaching this condition. By using this website you unreservedly accept this condition.

4. Liability

VIDe Ltd. is not responsible for the conduct, whether online or offline, of any user or member of ODT.

In no event will VIDe Ltd. or any Institution which subscribes to ODT be liable to you or any other person for any damages, losses, costs or expenses arising from your use of ODT or any Content.

You indemnify VIDe Ltd. for any damages, losses, costs and expenses incurred by VIDe Ltd. arising out of your use of ODT.

5. Termination

VIDe Ltd. may do any of the following:

  1. delete your profile;
  2. delete any Content posted by you; and
  3. terminate your membership, for any reason.

PRIVACY

This Privacy Policy describes the way in which vid.E (UK) Ltd. deals with the information and data you provide to us. By accepting this Privacy Policy you agree that you understand and accept the use of your personal information as set out in this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy please do not use the Website or otherwise provide us with your personal information.

References in this Privacy Policy to ‘VID.E (UK) LTD.’, “we”, “us” or “our” relate to a private company registered in the UK.

WHAT WE COLLECT

The information and data about you which we may collect, use and process includes the following:

  • Information that you provide to us by filling in forms on the Website
  • Records of correspondence and comments on the Website
  • Your responses to ODT surveys, used for educational purposes

PARTICIPANT DATA

Users of the ODT usually self-register. You may voluntarily provide us with your gender, year of birth and level of study and subject at the University. You are not required to complete these fields should you choose not to. We use these data solely for educational reasons, to show trends in values-based decision-making, which are automatically collated as students respond to educational scenarios and ethical dilemmas.

If you wish you can enter a pseudonym and/or a false email address. You can also elect to be anonymous. We encourage ODT users to attach their names to their views – but this is entirely voluntary.

HOW WE USE COOKIES

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added, and the cookie helps analyse results of our educational surveys.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. We use this information for statistical analysis purposes only, and then the data is removed from the system.

A cookie does not give us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us. You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer.

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You can change your registration details at any time by signing in and editing your profile.

WHY WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA

If you choose not to provide your Personal Data it may prevent us from meeting legal obligations, fulfilling a contract, or performing services required to run your account.  Not providing your Personal Data may mean we are unable to provide you with our educational services.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure your personal data.

We will assist you if you choose to exercise any of your rights over your Personal Data, including:

STORING AND RETAINING YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We are committed to protecting the security of your personal data, which is held in secure data centres in the United Kingdom in accordance with current legislative requirements, industry standards and technology. 

We will keep the personal data you have provided for as long as we have a relationship with you; once that relationship has ended we will retain it in accordance with this Policy only for as long as we reasonably require it to comply with internal policies and any legal or regulatory obligations.  It will then be deleted and / or destroyed.  

UPDATES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time, so please review it frequently.

If any material changes are made to this Privacy Policy we will use reasonable endeavours to inform you in advance by email, notice on the Website or other agreed communications channels.  We will communicate the changes to you in advance, giving an appropriate amount of time for you to consider and understand the changes before they become effective.

We will not enforce material changes to the Privacy Policy without your express consent.  If you decline to accept the changes to the Privacy Policy, or otherwise do not accept the changes within the time period, we may not be able to continue to provide some our educational services.
